Digital Transgender Archive
In this interview, Michelle O’Brien discusses milestones in her politicization: Ancient Forest Defense Network in the Pacific Northwest, highway blockades in Minnesota, trans healthcare organizing in Philadelphia, and the AIDS struggle in New York City. From anarchism to socialism and everything in between, O’Brien discusses how important both high intensity direct action and marxist/feminist/queer theory and analysis have been every step of the way. Despite traveling around the world and meeting older queers, radical fairies, lesbian seperatists, and more, listen to O'Brien explain why she is happy to call New York home, as well as assess the ups and downs of her current work as a Sociology doctoral candidate at New York University.
