The bride smiles and the clergyman looks somewhat surprised, looking in the direction of the viewer. Professionally produced publicity card for Lyell Johnson and Fred Groome, circa 1910. An obscure comedy duo, one of the many thousands of variety acts who toured the music halls at the beginning of the twentieth century, when the only entertainment was live. Part of James Gardiner Collection: photograph album labelled ‘Drag’.
