Digital Transgender Archive
The two characters perform a scene on a very detailed and furnished stage set; both are seated at a table. Amateur drag depicted without location on a British photographic postcard. One performer wears really quite good women's clothes and shoes ca. 1918, while the other is in hastily improvised costume with a headscarf and carpet slippers. A notice on stage left says (Silence est owrum" (dog Latin, "Silence is gold") and a notice on stage right says "Oratio est argentum" (Latin, "Speech is silver")
Part of James Gardiner Collection: photographs of military, naval, and prisoner-of-war camp drag.
