Nasreen Mohamed is Tanzanian gender non-conforming person from the coast of Dar es Salaam. At the time of this interview, Mohamed was working in the field of post-secondary education. In this oral history, Mohamed talks about growing up in Tanzania in a Ismaili Muslim community and later studying abroad in Minnesota. Mohamed also touches upon topics such as trans politics, Orlando, their borderlands experiences, and the changes in islamophobia Mohamed experienced pre and post-9/11.
